The Ministry of Defence has launched a new ID card for anyone who has served in the British Armed Forces.
The card will help veterans to prove their service to the NHS, councils and other organisations to enable them access services more easily.
The cards are being launched in two phases. From February 18 they are being automatically issued to people leaving the Armed Forces as part of their discharge process and will also be issued retrospectively for people who have left on or after 17 December 2018.
The second phase will start before the end of 2019 when applications will be opened to everyone who has served.
You can read more about the card on the Ministry of Defence’s website.
